Why do you write?

I'm always interested in why people write. Maybe it was a book that turned them onto writing. Or a teacher or parent. I'd love to hear why you write. So please tell me.

  1. I write because I have a story floating around in my head that's a good ten years old and now that I've started it, a dozen other ideas have jumped to the surface, clamoring to be put to paper.

  4. Nisa, Jess and Sharon, All great reasons to write. When times get tough in your writing (as they surely will) remember why you are doing what you are doing and persevere. (Happy dance)

  5. I write because if I don't, the characters stand behind me, looking over my shoulder saying, "Are you going to write my story yet? Are you going to write it yet?" :p I swear they're worse than my eight year old twins.
