Quote of the day

"Sit down every day and DO IT. Writing is a self-taught craft; the more you work at it, the more skilled you become. And when you're not writing, READ." --Lois Duncan
What is one thing you wrote that you are really proud of?

  1. Yeah, sitting to write everyday is important. I'm about to unplug and start writing.

  5. Lois Duncan!!! -- awesome quote, and so true! It is "self-taught." I recently had to sit through a day-long inservice by the representative of a writing curriculum publisher. She was an energetic presenter, and she shared great strategies for teaching individual writing skills. But the whole time, I kept thinking, "These skills, taught individually, cannot make great writers. It takes a talent to put them all together." And that can only be learned from within.
