Learn how to cherish rare time with your family

My youngest son was home on spring break recently and we had a rare opportunity to go out to dinner.
Now that we’re all busy adults with crazy schedules, it’s not always easy to get the family together.
Sitting across from my sons, I was reminded of the fine young men they have become.

These are the same boys who put rubber snakes in our bed and thought the floor was their personal wrestling ring.
Time has a way of blurring our memories, but there are some that are as clear and bright as a cloudless blue sky on a crisp spring day.
Rocking them to sleep while singing a soft lullaby.
Putting Power Ranger Band-Aids on boo-boos (even when they were nothing more than scratches).
Making a SpongeBob SquarePants costume for the school parade.
Clutching my heart as they learned to drive.
With age comes wisdom, and what I’ve come to realize is that life’s wrinkles have a way of working themselves out.
